The first Jeep Wrangler to have the model code “YJ” went into production 37 years ago at the American Motors Corporation plant. Its commercial career began in 1987 and ended in 1995, after 630,000 sales. It was followed in 1996 by “TJ”, in 2006 by “JK” and in 2017 by “JL” who holds the baton until today. Along the way, each new generation has continued to evolve the Wrangler legend by building on the unparalleled combination of world-class off-road capability with Jeep’s unique style. In fact, from the “YJ” onwards, every new Wrangler is designed more refined and easy to use in everyday life, without this implying any discount in the top off-road capabilities.

The latest stop on the model’s journey, and perhaps the most important in its entire journey, is the Jeep Wrangler 4xe Plug-in Hybrid. It is by far the most powerful, fastest, efficient, environmentally friendly, technologically advanced and digitally advanced Wrangler ever presented. The electrified Wrangler is the most complete version in the history of the model. From the cooperation of a 2-liter turbo gasoline engine with two electric ones, the maximum output is 380 PS with 637 Nm, while the efficient and reliable four-wheel drive system is fully mechanical and the automatic transmission has eight ratios. Electricity is supplied by a high-voltage battery with a capacity of 17.3 kWh, which is sufficient for up to 53 km of purely electric driving in an urban environment.
